"Bridget is an elementary school teacher with many failed relationships.
She has always played it safe and been the good girl. They say opposites attract
each other. She met Autumn on MySpace, they are the complete opposites. Autumn
is a wild party girl.
They say everyone has a soul mate Bridget Monahan has found hers in Tristan
Hathaway. Her best friend Autumn is forever setting her up on a blind date. It
was time Bridget put her foot down but she agreed one more time. If he turned
out to be a dud then that was it. When Bridget arrives at Autumn’s house and
meets Tristan and sparks fly like fireworks. He reminds her of an Angel. She
falls in love with him. He may be near perfect on the outside but inside he has
unsolved problems.
This book is a passionate love story, down to earth Bridget and life in the fast
lane Tristan. This book reminded me a bit of a soap opera, Girl meets boy, falls
in love at first sight, secrets that haven’t been revealed, marriage, and
children come along. Throw in infidelity in and you have the makings of a love
story. This book has erotic scenes and explicit language. This story is very
long and involved. The length will be daunting to many readers."

Reader's Favorite (3/5 stars)
"A Rose to the Fallen is a great romance. It has all of the quintessential elements that I look for when wanting to escape into the fantasy that is romantic literature, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre.
The book captures the reader’s imagination in the prologue, with the engaging story of a little British boy who has an imaginary friend in the form of a little redheaded girl. Two mysteries are established in the prologue – that of whether or not this redheaded little girl is actually real, as well as the enigma that is the little boy. There's something very special about him, we just don't know what it is.
The story then launches, narrated by none other than that little redheaded girl, all grown up. The book is written in a conversational style – unpretentious and real – so that it’s easy to simply slide into the story itself. The first person narration is endearing and quickly establishes the leading lady as a woman that most women can relate to and like.
Enter Tristan, the impossibly good-looking British bad-boy, including tattoos, a sordid, slutty past, and once he meets our heroine, eyes only for her.
'My first impression of Tristan was that he reminded me of a fallen angel. He had this almost inhuman beauty, but he seemed oblivious to it. I couldn’t detect an arrogant bone in his entire body. And judging by his extremely casual appearance, he didn’t seem like one to obsess over vanity. But I was fooling myself because a man as gorgeous as him has definitely been made aware of his good looks; probably as soon as he hit puberty.' (p. 24)
A Rose to the Fallen explores the major aspects of female fantasy, including two gorgeous main characters, the best friend who brings them together, magical physical chemistry, the reformed bad-boy who becomes the jealous, over-protective partner, disapproval on the part of the mother (which makes him all the more irresistible), and more.
What makes this story unique is the underlying supernatural quality woven into the background. Moreover, the sex scenes are intense and very well done. Oh, and did I mention the sexual episode between the superbly hot Tristan and another equally good-looking man? Oh yes, ladies, there is some fantastic man on man action.
As one of the sub-plots drives the story to a suspenseful and tragic ending, the reader can be rest-assured that when fate is involved, all things end well. After the sorrow, we get to learn exactly what it is that makes Tristan so very special."

"A heartfelt read with twists and turns!! Loved It!!
Bridget Monahan is about to learn that soul mates really do exist. As an elementary school teacher who has had many failed relationships, she is very much a skeptic. When a friend tells her she has found Bridget's soul mate she laughs, but gives in. Upon meeting Tristan Hathaway, she may just believe. Instantly attracted to Tristan, a handsome blonde angel with a British accent, Bridget feels a connection from the start. As she feels herself falling in love with Tristan, barriers she has erected begin to fall. Finally believing she has found her soul mate, she sees him as nothing but perfect. Even though she finds that there is more to him than she thought, he is still the only man to take her to sexual heights like she has never known. They connect mind, body and soul, and discover that true love and forever really do exist.
Wow, this story blew me away! You connect with Tristan and Bridget from the start and you grow with them. From their first meeting at being set up, to such a wonderful love story, it keeps you captivated. I loved this well written story from start to finish, it will have you believing in true love and meant to be. If you are looking for a heartfelt and touching read with steamy love scenes then this book is for you! I promise you will enjoy yourself. Well done April!!"

ParaNormal Romance
"A dream brings Bridget to a party to meet yet another blind date set up by her best friend, Autumn. Bridget’s told her friend to quit trying to play matchmaker, but Autumn doesn’t listen. This guy is supposed to be special: good-looking, British, and, according to Autumn’s dream, destined to be Bridget’s soul mate.
Tristan proves to be more than Bridget bargained for. A bad boy to the core, he’s been around the block a few times and isn’t afraid to admit it. Strangely, Bridget isn’t disturbed by this fact. His honesty is endearing, and she finds herself falling quickly for this aspiring actor who won’t take no for an answer.
A Rose to the Fallen by April Bostic is an epic love story spanning decades that earns 3 tombstones. It details every aspect of Bridget and Tristan’s relationship from when they first meet, to marriage, to the birth of their daughter, Katie, and beyond. The most mundane of details are described, making you feel like you’re watching the couple from a hidden camera instead of reading about them, making it easy to loose yourself in their world.
This story strangely entranced me. The writing was clichéd at times and the tone switched from innocent to erotic without much of a transition. Yet I became a bit obsessed with the characters, even as they were put in situations so convoluted they would have done the writers of daytime soap operas proud. Any spare chance I had found me in front of the computer, devouring the trials and tribulations of Bridget and Tristan’s love life.
Though I love Tristan with all of my heart, Bridget’s character bothered me. She seemed hypocritical, judgmental, and a bit of an attention hog. While Tristan was trying with all his heart to be perfect for her (for his first relationship ever, I think he did a wonderful job!), Bridget didn’t seem to want to put in the same effort. In fact, she did something so heartbreaking that I almost wrote her off, but my need to find out if Tristan recovered kept me coming back for more.
I’m not sure I’d call this a paranormal romance because the paranormal aspects were more of an afterthought and weren’t even discussed until the last chapter of the novel. Instead, I’d say it was a feel-good romance. Yes, there’s heartbreak, betrayal, and sadness, but overall I found myself smiling at Tristan’s quirks and rooting for him to make things work."

Bitten by Books (3/5 tomb stones)
"Do you believe in soul mates? Do you believe that someone out there in the billions of people on Earth is your other half? Do you believe in that one true love? The one that seeps into your heart unnoticed capturing your every attention. If you don't then this is not the book for you. However, if you do believe in finding THE ONE then be prepared for an exciting, heart-warming, soul-searching and all consuming love of a story.
Tristan Hathaway is a man who hears things. Things that he knows should not be heard yet the voices come to him. He knows something is wrong with him but can't figure out what it is. His whole life has always been a mess, women everywhere and fights. Everything changes when he meets not just anyone but she is the one he has been hearing in his head for years. Tristan knows he doesn't deserve her but one kiss from her and he knows he has found his other half. The thing is that she is somewhat afraid of him in her own way. He knows he can come off as possessive, jealous and maybe sometimes dominant. But that is all in the name of love. Tristan knows without his red Rosie in his life he is not nor will ever be complete.
Bridget Monahan has never known a man like Tristan Hathaway. He's gorgeous from his blue periwinkle eyes, to his blond bed head to the bottom of his... well you know. How a man like him could be interested in a freckled, redheaded woman like her is beyond words. All Bridget knows is that she feels something deeply for him. Something she has never known before in her life. A kiss from him is unlike any she has known for it feels like coming home to her. She knows Tristan is vulnerable sometimes and expects so much of her. Yet the more she is with him the more Bridget is learning new things about her angel. To her, Tristan will be her lover, warrior, protector and friend but she knows it runs deeper than that. She doesn't know why Tristan picked her but knows his love is real.
WOW, JUST WOW. April Bostic has written a book that tugs on the heartstrings and will have you wondering where your true love is? I see this debut author going places as she has created one of the most powerful, enchanting and beautiful books I've ever read. I definitely highly recommended this to readers who want a real love story.
April Bostic not only took my breath but Tristan and Bridget came to life. I must say the cover definitely doesn't do justice to Tristan. When you see the love between these two it is like magic. It has it ups and downs but in every curve in life their love pulls them back together. I loved it and can't wait for more of April Bostic's talented work."
- Night Owl Romance (5/5 hearts)
"April Bostic is a promising new author. Her debut novel follows a young couple through the development of their romance from just before they meet and throughout their lives together. It touches on the paranormal concepts of soul mates, psychic connections and angels.
The storyline introduced in the prologue was captivating and I was hoping to read more of that in the book. There is plenty of passionate lovemaking and even some sexual exploration in this book. The author spends a great deal of time developing the relationship between the two characters and it is sometimes hard to understand how the main character, Bridget, keeps falling for the bad boy Tristan Hathaway with all his many flaws.
It is nice to see the characters work on their relationship together but it is not always convincing to the reader that their differences can be worked out so easily. That being said, if you are interested in an idyllic adult romance, this definitely foots the bill. You will not be disappointed."
