Song-inspired character artwork

A Dark Scandal, Alex Pettyfer, Alexandra Daddario, Artwork, Lily Cole, Micah, Paddy Mitchell, Paige, Riley, Sybil, The Howling Heart

I like various genres of music and sometimes it influences my writing. It’s the reason I mentioned different songs my characters heard throughout my novels A Rose to the Fallen and The Howling Heart. The latest artwork in my deviantART gallery were inspired by songs. I used them to tell stories with my characters and show their emotions.

For Micah & Sybil in A Dark Scandal, I used the haunting love song “Be My Light” from the Camelot soundtrack. Sybil is protecting Micah from the sun. She is his light because he cannot face it or else he’d burn to death, and he is her light because he allowed her to be true to herself. I used Lily Cole as Sybil and Paddy Mitchell as Micah.

For Riley & Paige in The Howling Heart, I used Sia’s melodic and dramatic song “Moon”. Paige is conflicted because she wants to be with Riley, but their lives are too different. She wants to advance her career in the city, and he can’t leave his wolf pack in the mountains. I used Alexandra Daddario as Paige and Alex Pettyfer as Riley.

Love scenes from The Howling Heart

News, Paige, Riley, The Howling Heart

Did you know I posted all the love scenes from The Howling Heart in my deviantART gallery? I’m a self-proclaimed hopeless romantic, so it’s only natural. Three of the scenes were not included in the free 10-chapter preview I had available for download. If you’re interested in reading more of Riley & Paige’s love story, check out 4 sensual excerpts from my unpublished second novel. They have mature content filters, so if you don’t have a dA account, or you have an account but you’re under 18 years old, you won’t be able to read them.

New year, new poster

Alex Pettyfer, Alexandra Daddario, Artwork, Paige, Riley, The Howling Heart

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope 2012 brings great things for me, specifically that The Howling Heart gets published. Lately, the fate of my second novel has been on my mind and I was inspired to create this mock movie poster. One of my dreams is to see one of my stories adapted for film. I know it will never happen, which is why I make stuff like this. This poster is the latest addition to my deviantART gallery. I used Alex Pettyfer (of course) as Riley, and Alexandra Daddario as Paige. I mentioned Sean Bean in the cast credits because he’s my #1 choice for Riley’s father Aidan, and he would have a major role in the imaginary movie.

New fanart for The Howling Heart

Alex Pettyfer, Emily Didonato, Fanart, Paige, Riley, The Howling Heart

You should know by now that if I see someone make fanart, fanvideos, or fanfiction from my stories that I like to showcase them on my site. Over the last few years, I’ve posted all of the above. I do it because I appreciate when someone enjoys my work enough that it inspires them to be creative. I usually make my own artwork for my stories, so it’s nice when someone else makes it for them. Today, I’m showcasing fanart by Alissa aka bluehybun for my unpublished novel The Howling Heart. I met her on deviantART and she told me she loved my books. I’ve met a couple readers on dA which was a nice surprise. Alissa used Alex Pettyfer and Emily Didonato to represent Riley & Paige. I think she did a wonderful job, and I’m thrilled to know she’ll be making more artwork, but next time for A Rose to the Fallen. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

This is the 4th Polyvore set I’ve posted for The Howling Heart. It features actors Alex Pettyfer and Alexis Bledel as my characters Riley & Paige. If the creator reads this… thank you for making a nice set for my second novel. I’m glad it inspired you to be creative. Oh, and I hope it gets published soon too! :)

More of The Howling Heart on Polyvore

Alex Pettyfer, Fanart, Paige, Riley, The Howling Heart

When I saw these Polyvore sets for my unpublished novel The Howling Heart, my jaw dropped. I think they’re really nice and the creator did a great job. I can definitely see Paige wearing these outfits, especially the 2nd one when she’s in Colorado. The creator knows how stylish my character is; makeup and accessories are a MUST for her. Paige works for Elle magazine after all. I love how detailed she was—there’s so much stuff! She even has a picture of a waterfall in the forest just like in the scene where Riley & Paige had their first kiss. And you can’t forget a picture of Alex Pettyfer to represent Riley since he inspired the story. If the creator ever reads this post, I want to thank her for making these. I’m so glad The Howling Heart inspired her creativity. I’m even more flattered because she felt my novel deserved TWO sets! You can click on them to see them in detail.

The Howling Heart trailer has arrived!

Alex Pettyfer, Alexis Bledel, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News, Paige, Riley, The Howling Heart

I think Tiffany D.’s new mock movie trailer for The Howling Heart is better than the one she created for A Rose to the Fallen. The video is not in HD like she wanted because her computer couldn’t handle the rendering, but it’s still a very good quality. There are more sounds, music, and dialogue. There’s lots of clips of British actor Alex Pettyfer as Riley. It’s only fitting since he inspired the story and the character. The scenes in the beginning with Alexis Bledel as Paige are nearly perfect, and the special effects at the end are really creative. Tiffany’s trailers are the closest my novels will get to being films. This trailer is the most special to me because The Howling Heart is the last novel I’m writing.

Tiffany, if you read this… thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’re truly talented and your trailers have done wonders helping to promote my novels. I know you’re a fan of mine, but I’ll always be a fan of yours too!

The Howling Heart trailer update

Alex Pettyfer, Alexis Bledel, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News, Paige, Riley, The Howling Heart

I wasn’t going to post this update because I didn’t want to tease anyone who’s anticipating the release of Tiffany D.’s fanmade trailer for The Howling Heart. But I had second thoughts because I know some of you are waiting. I received an email from Tiffany earlier this week and her trailer is finished, but it’s not uploaded to YouTube yet. She was having problems rendering the video because it’s high-definition and her computer is not powerful enough to handle it. She’s on vacation now, so unfortunately she won’t be able to upload the video until she returns home. She said the trailer should be uploaded in early December. It’s going to be on her second channel because she has a couple strikes from YouTube on her main channel. She said she doesn’t want to risk getting another strike and having her main channel deleted. Her trailer for A Rose to the Fallen is on her main channel. I’ll admit the anticipation is killing me! She said I’m really going to like the trailer. I have no doubts because she’s an amazing video editor and her trailers are very realistic. I’ll let you in on a few details she did share with me. The trailer will feature Alex Pettyfer as Riley and Alexis Bledel as Paige. The songs featured will be Within Temptation’s “The Howling” and Safetysuit’s “Find A Way”. I already shared Safetysuit’s song in an earlier post, so here’s “The Howling”. Take a listen and let the trailer countdown begin!
