Updates and The Howling Heart sequel
A Rose to the Fallen, Book Covers, Book Trailer, Fanvideo, News, The Howling HeartTiffany is still working on the book trailer for A Rose to the Fallen. I spoke to her a few weeks ago and it seems to be going well. It’s challenging for her to find the right videos so she can put the clips together. I think she’s going to use the love poem on my MySpace to tell Tristan & Bridget’s story in the trailer. She said she really liked it, and I think that would be really cool if she used it. I’m not sure when she’ll be finished, but I hope it’s very soon. I’ll let everyone know when the trailer is up. She said, “I want to have something that your readers and even new-comers to the book will watch and then say..’I would LOVE to see that film’.” Me too!
I can’t wait, I’m so excited! She enjoyed my book so much, she said she’s reading it again. I believe she’ll be hosting the trailer on her YouTube channel. We both agreed that she should put a rating on it because my book is for adults. Her underage viewers shouldn’t read it, so they probably won’t see the video. I think that’s how ratings work on YouTube. I’ve never uploaded a video there in my life, so I’m not sure.
A couple weeks ago, I posted an announcement that my book cover is being redesigned. It still is, but it’s taking longer than I thought. I removed the announcement post because I’m not sure when it will be available. It’s too early to tell, and I was dumb enough to announce it too soon. The front cover is finished, but the spine needs to be fixed and I need the back cover redesigned. I don’t want to use any of Melissa Petersen’s designs for the new book. I tried to design the back cover myself, but it didn’t come out right when Author House sent me the proof. My design skills are too amateur, so I contacted two graphic designers/photographers from DeviantArt to see which one of them is more affordable and could create a design faster. I already heard back from one of them, so I’m waiting for a price quote from the other. Hopefully, I’ll hear from her soon and make a decision by the end of this week.
I’ve received numerous emails from readers asking about a sequel to The Howling Heart. People want to know if Paige ever gets pregnant, does Quinn ever find a mate, and what happens to Riley in the city? Those are valid questions I didn’t answer in the story. I was thinking about writing a sequel, but I realized I’d be setting myself up for disappointment. I hardly get reviews for the first story, so why should I spend months of my life writing another one? Feedback is the only way I’m getting paid because the story is free. Some reviews are from the same people who comment on various chapters. I allow reviews from non-registered users too, but it hasn’t made a difference. Some of you may have enjoyed reading the story, but I’m not getting enjoyment from the lack of reviews. It’s not a win-win situation, so a sequel is not going to happen.
