Song lyrics inspired by A Rose to the Fallen

A Rose to the Fallen, News, Reviews, Song Lyrics

December has been a slow month for news. I guess because I’m not writing anymore and not doing any book signings. Plus, I haven’t seen any new reviews. The month is coming to a close and so is 2009. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has read A Rose to the Fallen and liked it enough to send me emails and leave reviews and comments on various book sites, my blog, and MySpace. I truly appreciate it and I’m glad people are enjoying Tristan & Bridget’s love story. I’m still surprised when people tell me my book is their favorite. I even have some Tristan fangirls which is really amazing. A Rose to the Fallen has been released for a year now and it’s been wonderful meeting so many readers online. I hope 2010 brings bigger and greater things.

Which brings me to one of my special readers who I also call a friend. Kay Montgomery is one of my biggest fans. She’s written the first A Rose to the Fallen fanfiction and created the first fanvideo. She’s very multi-talented because not only does she write stories and edit videos, but she’s an aspiring singer and songwriter. She’s written lyrics for an unreleased song entitled “Angel, Hold me Close” that was inspired by my book. Here is an excerpt from the song. You can read the rest of the lyrics on her MySpace music blog.

Your blue eyes–perfection
Battle scars marr your skin
Your blond hair messed up
I’m yours always

I’d given up on love
My heart broken too many times
When you drop your rose from the sky
I make you mine

[CHORUS]
Angel, hold me close
Wrap your wings close to me
Angel, hold me close
With your wounded arms
Angel, hold me close
and make me safe again
Angel, hold me close
and mend this broken heart
Angel, hold me close
[END CHORUS]

All these girls–they flaunt
But, baby, your eyes are mine only
and the past is the past
when she shows up.
Too much pain to suffer
when you save me…
