Unauthorized translation of Eros, My Love

E-Book, Eros My Love, News

ETA 3/24: I contacted Google since they own Blogger and informed them of the copyright violations. Hopefully, they will remove the posts because the bloggers haven’t responded to me.

ETA 3/21: I found it on more Spanish language sites here and here. I don’t know what the e-book says (I don’t speak or read Spanish) or if it’s even translated properly. I did notice it’s negatively affecting my book’s rating on Goodreads.

ETA: Thankfully the upload has been removed from Frozen In Time, but it’s still on Eyes of Angels.

I was recently informed there is an unauthorized Spanish translated e-book of Eros, My Love posted on this website. Someone actually translated my story into Spanish, created a homemade PDF, and then uploaded it to this site. They thanked this site for the book, so I’m assuming they are the real culprits here. Some people need to realize that not all books are translated into their native language. That’s too bad, but blame the publishers. Don’t do sneaky things like this to authors without asking them first. This really pisses me off! I left comments asking to have it removed and also sent e-mails to both sites. We’ll see if that gets me anywhere. It probably won’t. I already informed my publisher, but they can’t do anything because I own the copyright. This is just yet another downside to publishing e-books. I really miss the good old days of paperbacks and hardcovers only.

Not what…but who inspired me to write

A Dark Scandal, A Rose to the Fallen, Alex Pettyfer, Damien, Daniel Sharman, Love Addiction, Micah, Paddy Mitchell, Riley, The Howling Heart, Toby Hemingway, Tristan

Some authors are inspired by someone or something that gives them a reason to write a story. Creativity can be sparked from anywhere, anything, and anyone. I believe the possibilities are infinite. For me, I had several people—more appropriately termed “muses”—who gave me inspiration to write and they all had one major thing in common: they were all attractive British men I’ve never met. Something about them used to get my writing juices flowing like crazy. They make such appealing fictional heroes. Maybe it’s the accent, or the charm a lot of them have with us American women. With that said, allow me to visually introduce the muses who inspired my novels and short stories.

I think if it wasn’t for Toby Hemingway, I wouldn’t be an author. After seeing him in The Covenant in 2006, I devoted over a year of my life writing RP fanfiction with him as the hero, and then editing most of my fanfiction into an original manuscript. He was the muse who helped me self-publish my first novel, A Rose to the Fallen, and he’ll forever be my Tristan in my ageless dream cast.

I can’t remember when I became an Alex Pettyfer fan. I’ve liked him and enjoyed his movies for a long time. In 2009, he made such an impression on me that I imagined him as a werewolf when I wrote The Howling Heart. For my fellow Alex fans who read the book, I hope you picked up on certain physical characteristics about Riley that I modeled after Alex like his green eyes, the beauty mark at the corner of his mouth…or perhaps a certain tattoo?

Daniel_muse
If you watch MTV’s Teen Wolf, then you should understand why Daniel Sharman inspired me to write. Not only do I think he’s the most attractive guy on the show, he’s one of the best actors. He’s very underrated in the film industry, and I’d love to see him get more roles. Especially, the lead in a romantic comedy or drama. That’s why I decided to write my own entitled Love Addiction and pen Damien after him.

Last, but certainly not least, Patrick “Paddy” Mitchell is the youngest of my British muses. I remember seeing Paddy’s modeling photos years ago and I was so enthralled by his masculine beauty, I wished he’d never age, almost like Dorian Gray but without the curse. He’s the reason I penned Micah, the 1000-year-old vampire frozen in a 20-year-old man’s body in A Dark Scandal.

Book tours winding down

Book Tour, News

I’ve been touring The Howling Heart online for six months now. The majority of my tours have ended, but I still have one last tour going from Orangeberry Book Tours. This tour runs every Sunday until April 6. Once the tour concludes, I’m supposed to have over 20 readers review my book from the Quality Reads UK Book Club. I’m pending two giveaway winners from my tours with Enchanting Book Promotions and Read Between the Lines. The EBP giveaway has actually ended and I’m just waiting for the winner’s information. The RBTL giveaway ends this Saturday at midnight EST. I plan to write a post about my book touring experience since it’s the first time I’ve had multiple tours (29 to be exact) for one book and I have opinions I want to express.

Tour Review Spotlight

Book Tour, News, Reviews, The Howling Heart

I’ve never done a spotlight for a review from one of my book tours, but I have to do it for this one from Kathie at Living Between Books. I don’t think I’ve ever read a review where the reader was so excited about The Howling Heart. It’s a good feeling when someone enjoys my book a lot, and says it’s their favorite. I tried to give people a unique paranormal romance story with werewolves, and it’s really nice when someone appreciates that and says I’ve succeeded. Thanks again, Kathie, for such a spirited and entertaining review. :)
